NRL 2009 to Start

NRL for 2009 to start this Friday night, season kickoff between the new look Saints side coached by Wayne Bennett up against the fancied Melbourne Storm side at Olympic Park.

The headlines for Rugby League have been consistently about Manly, the leading club having player behaviour problems, with Anthony Watmough and now allegations against Brett Stewart after the clubs season launch last week.

The Manly club and its sponsors are copping plenty even before the kickoff of official footy in 2009.

Regardless, the winter is coming and so is NRL for 2009.
